Sustainable Economics – Analysis for Resilience

Sustainable Economics, founded by Joel Marsden, provides economic analysis and strategic policy advice to governments, international organisations, and policy partners. I focus on how trade, labour markets and skills systems can be leveraged to address the intertwined challenges of sustainability and economic transformation.

I’m an economist, researcher and policy analyst with over 15 years of experience. My approach is simple: a functioning economy depends on a stable climate, healthy ecosystems and social cohesion. I help partners align with these realities to build resilience and ensure that short-term gains don’t turn into long-term vulnerabilities.

Through impartial research, I combine data-driven insights with on-the-ground realities. This helps organisations develop evidence-based policies, navigate trade-offs, and make informed decisions.

I also focus on strengthening expertise, mobilising stakeholders, and tailoring communications. This ensures that our work together goes beyond analysis to deliver practical, lasting results.
