Sustainable Economics – Economic Analysis & Policy Advice

Sustainable Economics, founded by Joel Marsden, provides economic analysis and strategic policy advice to governments, international organisations, and policy partners. I focus on how trade, labour markets and skills systems can be leveraged to address the intertwined challenges of sustainability and economic transformation.

I’m an economist, researcher and policy analyst with over 12 years of experience. My work is grounded in the belief that well-being, ecological balance, and social equity should take precedence over the relentless pursuit of material expansion.

Through impartial research, I combine data-driven insights with real-world stories. This helps organisations to develop evidence-based policies, assess trade-offs, and make informed decisions.

I’m also committed to building capacity, mobilising stakeholders and tailoring communications. This ensures that our work together goes beyond analysis and creates real, practical outcomes.
